In a house at 5600' feet of elevation, you can expect some cold days. In a rental with no insulation, you can expect to either waste a lot of heat and money, or turn the thermostat down. I think Kurt may have had enough after needing a down coat and wool cap just for tooth brushing.

I thought that's how everyone dressed for tooth brushing. (The average indoor temp over here lately is around 59 deg.) Sounds like I'd be right at home at your place. Hope you have some South facing windows, Sunny.
